The Suzanne Lear School of Dancing

Training children and adults for exams, formation and competition and social dancing.

After several years competing as a junior in Ballroom, Latin American and Formation Dancing, also appearing on ‘Come Dancing’ and representing England in Germany and Holland, Suzanne decided to take up teaching as a career, training children and adults for exams, formation and competition and social dancing. More recently she has concentrated on the social side of dance.

The School has been based in Beaconsfield for the last 22 years, primarily as a Social School teaching adults of all ages to dance in a new healthy activity – a friendly atmosphere encouraging everyone to have fun and make new friends. There are several dances throughout the year, with the special night being the Lisa Lear Fund Charity Ball. Dance weekends with tuition and dances are now a well established part of the Dance Diary.

The School supports the Lisa Lear Fund, raising money for Lymphoma Research. Suzanne’s daughter, Lisa was a top junior competitor in the 70’s until after a long illness, she died from Non- Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, in 1979, aged 16. The Lisa Lear Fund has donated over £500,000, with most funds now being raised from: the Annual Lisa Lear Fund Charity Ball, where many well know young dancers have provided the Cabaret; dance events; and her most generous pupils, friends and family.

Suzanne is known for her welcoming friendly personality, patience and care of her pupils and always trying to provide the best for her dancing family.
